We're currently getting some exciting events ready to announce, until we do, check out some of our past events so you know what to expect:
Join us for a pilgrimage where nothing is sacred. From thieving and heavy drink to the death of five husbands, it's safe to say that this eclectic group isn't your run of the mill ‘holier-than-thou’ company.
A Day to Play is a one act play competition with a twist (that might be given away in the name); teams have 24 hours to write, rehearse, and prepare their play before they perform it in front of a live audience. You know how movie stars get months to perfect their craft and blooper reels as long as your arm to cover up their mistakes? Yeah – this isn't like that.
Want to try something new this O-week? Don't worry, you'll still have time to get your obligatory alcohol intake for the evening or for those awkward first year flirtations or whatever students do these days.
In a world where the terminally ill have the chance to cheat death through entering a lottery, those involved must grapple with loss, love, and questions of the soul.
One of the best ways for a writer to hear the play is through a rehearsed reading. These can often be a good way for trained actors to make a few extra dollars on the side and be a part of the creative process in developing a script. The two hour workshop will centre around the process of developing text for a rehearsed reading, making strong character choices, and bringing as much to the text as possible.
Shakespeare goes punk in this edgy, modern re-imagining of the classic play.
3 plays. 3 nights. 3 dollars. It's back and better than ever. It's DRAMASOC's 15th annual 3SOME!
After the success of last year's sessions, Dramasoc is proud to present two more workshops with experienced theatre practitioner Alice Canton. This time around we will be exploring how to take an idea from concept to proposal to full-blown show.
It's kinda like the 48hour film fest only half the length and way more unpredictable. And FUNpredictable (we're sorry, we had to. It IS going to be a lot of fun)...
A deliciously wicked comedy that proves that the female of the species is not only deadlier, but funnier than the male. Join Dramasoc for an entertainment-filled night you won’t want to miss!
When a snow-globe breaks in transit, the reulting request for a refund leads to lawsuits, love and a spot of casual thievery. The entitled Preston Dennis Jr. finally meets his match in the angst-ridden artist, Dahlia Markle.
Dramasoc is pleased to offer our members another workshop with the wonderful Alice Canton from the Court Theatre.
This Saturday prepare to to be wowed by our friends the Trinity Tiger Tones, an acapella group all the way from Oz, plus a few local talents!
It's back and better than ever. It's DRAMASOC's 14th annual 3SOME!
